This year, Swiss artist Hans Erni is 100 years old. To celebrate, the Museum of Art Lucerne is hosting a retrospective – the first major Erni show in nearly 40 years. The exhibition features a mix of favorites and lesser-known works in a variety of media. Both popular and controversial, Erni is one of Switzerland’s best-known artists.
Specialist stores satisfy the expat munchies

Despite the bounty of tasty local fare, there are some foods that expats living in Switzerland can’t seem to live without. With this in mind, shopkeepers specializing in British and American products are filling a market niche as they fill bellies with crumpets, cookies and cheddar cheese.

Museum offers everything but the kitchen sink

With so many prime pieces on display, the current exhibition at Zurich’s Museum of Design is comparable to a greatest hits album. “Every Thing Design” is the first show featuring material from all four of the museum’s collections, which include posters, design, applied art and graphics.
Chocolate art steals the show

“100% Chocolate” is the name of a new exhibition at Lucerne’s Museum of History. According to curator Alexandra Strobel, life without chocolate would be “impossible”.
